The mountain vineyards of Siluvio, located in the Asturian wine region, are born to face the weather, to take advantage of the soils, to watch over the musts and to obtain the wine.
Always thinking that everything we do will survive us.
Heroic viticulture
Heroic viticulture is developed in adverse conditions by dint of the sweat and tenacity of those who access mountainous areas and steep slopes to work the land and turn its fruit into great wines. Only five percent of the vineyards cultivated in Europe acquire this condition, which is certified by the Center for Research, Study, Safeguard, Coordination and Valorization of Mountain and Steep Slope Viticulture (CERVIM).
The wines under the Vino de Cangas PDO are born on steep slopes and only the love for the land itself and the enhancement of a unique product justify the hard work that hides the care of their vines. Heroic viticulture is that which is developed at an altitude of over 500 meters and a slope of over 30% in landscapes of great beauty but whose orography prevents mechanization, among other requirements.
The PDO Vino de Cangas back label recognizes, on the one hand, a unique historical wine-growing territory and, on the other, the effort and sacrifice of new generations of winemakers and farmers who dedicate their lives to creating better vines and finding new formulas and nuances to produce balanced wines with character.
